Sign of the times?

You know, yesterday I paid $4 for a new (not expired, without Botulism) jar of mayonnaise. I spent $3.49 for a loaf of bread. And the gallon of milk? $3.69.

All that was annoying but instantly forgotten when I pulled into the gas station. The price at the pump? Are you sitting down? Because really, I was glad I wasn't on my feet when I looked up and saw

$3.94.

No, that's not a typo. $3.94.

Long summer car trips? Soon to be another "I remember when..." moment.

I guess I should be "glad" I paid $3.49 yesterday. Ha.

I <3 my bread store... I get really good bread for $1.50, but I do buy organic milk, so $6.99 a gallon. Yikes.

I'd be better off buying a cow.

I don't drive, but oh my gosh.

Have a good Saturday.

We're at $3.69/gal. Seriously, it now costs me more to fuel the Pacifica than it did for tank up in the EXCURSION. We're seriously considering a Prius only because to make the payment and FUEL it would be less than our current car payment.

It seems like the whole world has gone nuts with these prices. We can barely afford to pay the day to day things and bills. There's no room for luxuries. A car trip is out of the question.

The price of milk makes me cringe! The price of everything, it seems. Just nuts.

Is that a gallon? We're paying $1.55/litre in Oz at the moment. I think they upped it for the ANZAC long weekend! It's too much.
