Nut Drops

I like to bake every day, but especially on Sundays. It just seems like a relaxing thing to do. Today I'm going to bake Nut Drops. The recipe is one we use often. It's included in my cookbook, Tea Time.

(If you're interested, the cookbooks are available through the link at the top of this page. Or contact me if you'd like any signed copy. Thanks!)

But today, as we bake these yummy treats, I'd be thrilled if you, too, had the chance to try them. If you give the recipe a test drive, please let me know what you think about them. I love comparing recipes and chatting about food, so feel free to email me!

What are your plans for this beautiful fall day?

Nut Drops

1 cup granulated sugar
8 T. butter
1 t. almond extract
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 t. baking powder
½ t. baking soda
1 cup mashed strawberries
½ cup chopped nuts
½ cup confectioner’s sugar

In a large bowl cream butter,
almond extract and granulated sugar until creamy.
Add egg and mix.
Add flour, baking powder and
baking soda and mix well.
Fold strawberries and nuts into batter.

Drop batter by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.

Place baking sheet in a 375-degree oven
and bake for 14-16 minutes.

Dust with confectioner’s sugar before serving.

Do you make your cookies by hand or with an electric mixer/beater? Can you tell that I don't bake much? But you are inspiring me to.

It was funny because I wanted to make your Morning Cake and realized that I had only two of the ingredients needed (eggs & milk). My cupboards are truly bare of basic items.

No plans for this fall day here. I'm enjoying the changes of the leaves and watching them fall to the ground though.

Have a great Sunday.

Okay, now I have to try this recipe! I have a brand new KitchenAid mixer just waiting to be used and these cookies are making my mouth water. Not to mention the comforting aroma of goodies baking in your house!

This sounds very good, I'll have to try it out. I've also marked your recipes. I love to cook almost as much as I love to read; although I never have enough time for either. I especially love the holiday season and all the extra goodies.

Laundry day here. I was gone all day Saturday so it didn't get done then.

The Nut Drops look super yummy, but I'll have to wait until 10 grows up and moves out before I make them. Sigh.
